Desires on My Mind

April 17, 2009 by in category Archives

Not just my Desires, (which I’m finishing, if my Editor drops in to read this. Honestly. Be there on time.) But I’ve been thinking about ALL of the Desires here lately.
Charlene Sands and I worked together to put up the new Silhouette Desire Author’s Blog over at eharlequin. We’ve got 22 of Desire’s finest authors signed up to blog and so far, we’re doing great!
We launched the blog on Monday and since then, we’ve been having some great interactions with READERS of Desires. It’s really a fabulous opportunity for writers to find out what readers want. And for readers to tell their favorite writers what they like best about their books, or what they’d like to see.
As a writer, there’s just nothing better than getting that insight from the people who go out and buy our books. And as a reader, I’m enjoying hearing more from some of my favorite writers. So if you’d like to share your opinions, or just meet some great, friendly people, come on over to the Silhouette Desire Author’s blog. We’d love to see you there!
If you’re thinking about writing for Silhouette (and I think Desire is the BEST line there), you should hang out. Ask the writers questions. Get some insight into what Silhouette’s looking for. You’ll never have a better opportunity to gather the information that might lead you into the career you’re trying to build.
Maureen Child is the author of more than 100 romance novels and novellas. At the moment, she’s finishing up book 3 in her latest Kings of California trilogy. (And, she’s going to try to set this post to go up tomorrow morning. If she remains technologically challenged, it will be going up a day early.)
