Pets, romance an
d lots of suspense. That’s me! Or at least that’s my theme on the revamped A Slice of Orange blog.
Why? Well, first, everything I write these days includes dogs, including my paranormal romances for Harlequin Nocturne, my mysteries that I write for Midnight Ink, including my Barkery & Biscuits series, and, soon, my new K-9 Ranch miniseries for Harlequin Romantic Suspense.
Also, everything I write includes romance. As I mentioned, I write for two Harlequin series, which are, of course, romances. And all the protagonists in my mysteries have romantic interests. The mysteries don’t always have a HEA
(happily ever after) when it comes to the romances, but of course the mysteries get solved in each one.
And that leads me into suspense. Everything I write also includes some degree of suspense, not just my mysteries but also my romances–and I don’t just mean my Harlequin Romantic Suspense novels.
So join me here at my Slice of Orange blog on the sixth day of each month, and I’ll be sure to include something regarding one or all of those themes.
By the way, I have two new novels about to be published: Bad to the Bone, the third Barkery & Biscuits Mystery in May, and Protector Wolf, the eighth Alpha Force Harlequin Nocturne in June–about a covert military unit of shapeshifters.

What does a writer do between drafts of a story? Well, that depends.
I finished a first draft of my upcoming fourth story in my Shelter of Secrets series for Harlequin Romantic Suspense. It still needs some work, but it’s currently in the hands of my excellent beta reader.

I’ve had a fun few weeks–including my usual writing. Plus, I heard that the Dog Writers Association of America, of which I’m a member, was looking for humorous articles for their upcoming issue of RUFF DRAFTS, their publication, so I of course had to submit a short article about how my puppy keeps me from concentrating on my writing by insisting that I play fetch with her while I’m sitting at the computer. Humorous?

I recently got word that my next Alaska Untamed Mystery, CRY WOLF, number two in the series, is now scheduled for publication on November 7. I love the cover! And the series is the first in which I’ve taken a pseudonym: Lark O. Jensen.
It’s not my only remaining book this year. I was already aware that my Coltons of New York book for Harlequin Romantic Suspense is also a November release. CSI COLTON AND THE WITNESS is officially out on November 27.

That trifecta sure does cover all your work. The pets and the suspense are my favorite, but your shape-shifter hunks are mighty nice, too.
Thanks, GBPool! Yep, those shapeshifter guys can be pretty hot. I like the guy on the cover of PROTECTOR WOLF. But you know how I feel about pets and suspense as well as romance.
