Between the Lines
a comma, a pause—
maybe even a full stop
heaves its way
between the lines
silence lingers to make
a statement, take
a breath, wait
between the lines
no words to complete
just spaces that speak
oceans that flow
between the lines

a grain of sand
blowing whichever way

You were the guest at my table picking on the corners of the table cloth, fingers nervously folding and unfolding mutilated pride.

Wow! Good one, Neetu. More than just punctuation.
Thanks, Veronica. There is so much to find between the lines, literally and metaphorically, if we care to look.
