Thunder

the wolves are quiet tonight

deep silence
before that burst
of lightning
strikes again

illuminates
a desperately darkened
horizon that
holds its breath

like the wolves,
I know

it is better to keep
the howls

for nights when
thunder does not compete

  • Robbie Byrd says:

Your poem above is beautiful and may be my favorite of your poems I’ve read. I rarely write anymore but will again. Our forum is not very active now. Time changes everything and everyone doesn’t it.

    Love you Neetu,
    Robbie

    • Neetu Malik says:

Thank you, Robbie, for visiting, reading and commenting on my poem. I am so happy you like it. I don’t write much either, at least at present, but it’s okay. I know our forum is very changed from what it once was and I haven’t visited in a very long time either. Change is the rhythm of life and one has to learn to accept it.
