Goodbye Kindle Worlds . . . or why I need a hug by Jina Bacarr

July 11, 2018 by in category Jina’s Book Chat tagged as , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Even the biggest bag of Godiva chocolates from my favorite warehouse club store doesn’t last forever . . .

Such a fate has also befallen Kindle Worlds.

As of July 16th, all Kindle Worlds books will no longer be available on Amazon Kindle.

It’s a sad time for those of us who fell in love with the worlds created by some great authors.

I wrote six Kindle Worlds books — five for “The Royals of Monterra” and one for “Vampire Girl.”

=============

On July 1st, I checked my KW books and they had already been taken down — or so I thought.

Then I discovered they were back up!! I have no idea why this happened, but I’m certain that by July 16th, the Kindle Worlds program will be closed across the board.

The authors get their rights back — but in order to republish them, we have to remove the “world” from our stories. Not always easy . . .

I’m not sure when I’ll do this — I’ve started another story in the same line as my Italian prince billionaire submission for a publisher. It will take a while to re-do six books, so as a tribute to the worlds I participated in, I decided to post the videos for five of my books and a graphic for the sixth.

Here they are.

Thank you, KW, for the opportunity to participate in this program! And yes, I could use a hug. It’s always sad to see your characters ride off into the digital sunset . . . but they’ll be back!!

Jina

PS — I’m excited to be a Featured Author this month!! Check out my other books, too, especially in you love Civil War time travel romance and my WW 2 time travel romance3.

Bring Your Teddy Bear to Work and School Day and don’t forget the mocha latte by Jina Bacarr

October 11, 2017 by in category Jina’s Book Chat, Writing tagged as , , , , , , ,

Writers write.

Teddy bears cuddle.

Who is in more need of a cuddle than a writer staring at the empty page?

So on Bring Your Teddy Bear to Work and School Day, grab those wonderful teddies and sit them next to your computer. Then watch the words fly onto the page as they whisper into your ear. Helping you write that love scene with more oomph…or googling research for you.

But if your teddy bears are like mine, they don’t work for peanuts.

Nope. It’s got to be double lattes. Pumpkin spice and a salted caramel mocha.

Who am I to argue? I think I’ll join them…delicious.

Happy writing!

~Jina

PS — I’m working on a new Royals of Monterra Kindle Worlds for Christmas called Royal Noel.

Am I crazy…or just a writer? by Jina Bacarr

November 11, 2016 by in category Jina’s Book Chat tagged as , , , , , , ,

I’m exhausted.

I finished a nearly 70,000 new Royals of Monterra novel, ROYAL BRIDE, edited it, formatted it, did the cover, and made three videos.

All in the past week.

(No, I didn’t write the novel in a week…but I was editing up to the last second).

Which makes me wonder, why do we do it?

Are we crazy, insane, both?

Yes, we’re writers.

It’s how we work. Think. Create.

Even more wild, the morning after I uploaded the manuscript for Royal Bride, I woke up with the next story zipping through my brain like a live current of electricity.

I wrote it all down and put it away.

Why?

Because the brain like the body needs rest. I love the idea I have for the next novel, but beyond that initial spurt of inspiration, my brain is….well, fried.

So this month, I’m on vacay, holiday, on the road…whatever it takes to, as the saying goes, to let the wells fill up again.

Somtimes you just gotta…

Here’s my new Royals of Monterra novel: ROYAL BRIDE

Royal Bride: “I’m not your ordinary Cinderella…” from Jina Bacarr on Vimeo.

She’s a Cinderella with a past she can’t forget.
He’s a charming prince with his own dark secret.
They fall in love, but what if the glass slipper doesn’t fit?

At thirty-six, Zoey St. John may not be your ordinary Cinderella, but when Prince Maximiliano Risconti di Montevecchio dances with her at a royal ball in Monterra, taking a chance on love is so much better than being alone.

She’s at a crossroads in her life and being the heroine in a good, old-fashioned fairy tale is just what she needs. With his dashing good looks and brooding dark eyes, the Alpha Royal makes her feel alive again after living alone for years with a tragic secret from her past.

Prince Max is a man born to duty and thrives on routine since that’s how everything has been done
since his royal title was granted centuries ago. He’s devoted to his family, he just doesn’t understand them until the pretty signorina makes him confront the truth about himself and question why he can’t stop thinking about her.

He’s drawn to her even if he won’t admithttp://wp.me/p2DHSo-N1 it and finds out he can’t let her go. The only problem is, the prince has no idea he needs a glass slipper to win her.

When an unexpected turn of events sends the prince’s royal household into chaos and threatens to destroy his family, Zoey takes on the prince and his old-fashioned methods to save them. She pursues her passion for helping others, even if it means the prince may break her heart in the process.

But when her painful past is revealed and turns this fairy tale upside down, can her love for the prince triumph and turn this story into a happily ever after?

Royal Dare: What happens when a Princess bites into that poison apple

February 11, 2016 by in category Archives tagged as , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Getting clean ain’t easy…even for a princess.

—————–
If you’re a princess, most likely your fairy godmother warned you about messengers bearing big, red shiny apples.

Who can forget Snow White…

But in the end she found her prince after eating the poisoned apple.

Sometimes princesses are influenced by the wrong people. Take Princess Violetta in ROYAL DARE. She was desperate to be thin and win her crush…but it led her into drug addiction. Her poison apple.

Meth.
—————
This month I tackle a serious subject in ROYAL DARE (The Royals of Monterra, Kindle Worlds).

Addiction to drugs is a major problem — not just for the addict but for those in their world. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to go to rehab, or what happens afterward, Royal Dare takes you into that world.

Even though my heroine is a princess, she’s not immune to the horrors of meth and how difficult it is to get clean.

Princess Violetta meets some interesting people in rehab and hears the story about an old cloth doll and how she helped an addict face her demons. There are funny moments, too, like seeing our princess with a toilet brush cleaning bathrooms, and tearful ones–when a girl who is a “cutter” and addict calls the hotline manned by our princess threatening to kill herself and Violetta is the only one who can save her.

Royal Dare is for anyone who is an addict and wants help, and for those who love them.

Thank you for listening.

~Jina

Royal Dare (The Royals of Monterra) is available on Amazon Kindle

Born a princess, Violetta of Monterra is living the fairy tale. She has everything she wants. Designer purses and shoes, a party lifestyle and she’s as thin as a smartphone.

She’s also a meth addict.

If she doesn’t get clean, she’ll lose everything. Her title, her family. Her soul.

Learning how to survive in rehab is only the first step to gaining her sobriety. Once she finishes the program, the real challenge comes when Violetta goes back to her fancy Swiss boarding school. His name is Chace. Her first crush . . . and the guy who got her hooked on meth. Trusting him won’t keep her sober.

Then there’s Troy, the new hottie in school. Can he save her from relapse? And from losing everything precious to her before she goes down that rabbit hole for the last time?

I finally get to be a Princess thanks to Kindle Scout

January 11, 2016 by in category Jina’s Book Chat tagged as , , , , , , ,

I’m finishing up a novel for Kindle Worlds “The Royals of Monterra” called ROYAL DARE — more info coming as we launch January 21, 2016.

I owe this wonderful opportunity to Kindle Scout — I met Sariah Wilson, a fellow Scouter, and when Amazon approached her about turning her novel “Royal Date” into a Kindle Worlds project, she invited Scouters to write for her KW.

I’ll update this page as I get more info — for now here’s the LINK and banner re: our Facebook launch on January 21, 2016  6-10 EST

Thanks to fellow Scouter M.R. Pritchard for this fab banner
Her Monterra novel is called “Forgotten Princess.”

And here’s a video I made a while back about wanting to be a princess!
